Innovation & Research

Innovation at TFS is driven by real-world operational challenges

Our research and development focuses on extending fluid life, improving system safety, and giving operators better insight and control over their thermal fluid systems.

For decades, we’ve developed practical technologies, services, and methodologies that challenge accepted industry limits. From early advances in fluid recovery and drying to today’s digital monitoring and predictive tools, our work is grounded in how systems behave in live operating environments.

This ongoing investment in innovation allows us to move beyond reactive maintenance and into active system management, where risk is reduced and performance is sustained.

Collaboration & Digital Innovation

Our commitment to innovation is strengthened through collaboration with industry and academia. A Knowledge Transfer Partnership with University of Derby is helping place TFS at the forefront of digital thermal fluid management.

Funded by Innovate UK, this partnership focuses on advanced modelling, monitoring, and data-led decision-making. The outcome is smarter tools that give operators greater visibility, earlier warnings, and more confidence in system performance.
